Pilates Instructor Training

Since 2014, Pure Pilates has been the region's Balanced Body authorized training center. Pure Pilates trained instructors and apprentices teach at Pure Pilates and around the United States. Pilates students have joined the apprenticeship program to further their personal practice and dive deeper into understanding of the Pilates Principles. Others have taken the modules to become full-time Pilates professionals. Some apprentices have undertaken the training as an exciting and challenging avocation. There is no one reason why apprentices embark on their training journey, and Pure Pilates welcomes all students interested in committing themselves to their Pilates practice and the Balanced Body curriculum.

The mission of the Pure Pilates Comprehensive Instructor Training Program is to inspire the next generation of Pilates instructors to reach the highest level of professionalism through superior training. The program aims to train apprentice instructors in the core principles of Pilates as well as share current research, so apprentices will be able to successfully create comprehensive, personalized Pilates programs suitable for any client, including special populations, upon program completion.

The Balanced Body Instructor Training Program is designed to create thoughtful, creative, and successful Pilates teachers. The Balanced Body curriculum emphasizes the principles underlying each exercise, and Master Instructors focus on the “why” behind each exercise. Balanced Body manuals are considered to be some of the best in the industry and are a more in depth study of the Pilates movement principles, anatomy, and considerations for special populations.

The Balanced Body training is modular and progressive, allowing students to build on their education and training in the way that suits their unique training goals, budget, and timeline. Modules are taught throughout the year and an early registration discount is offered for those who register 10+ days before a module.

Pilates Instructors are required to have a 16-hour anatomy training as part of their certification process. Balanced Body recommends Anatomy in 3D as an informative and interactive way to complete this portion of the certification. New apprentices are required to take Movement Principles prior to Mat I or Reformer I. The Master Instructor also reserves the right to add additional hours to the program for the benefit of apprentices who may need additional review and practice prior to test out.

Balanced Body training modules are approved by the Pilates Method Alliance, ACE, AFAA, NASM, and, of course, Balanced Body, for continuing education credits necessary to maintain currency. Physical Therapists may also be able to use Balanced Body training for continuing education credit. Those interested in should contact their state licensing board for instructions on how to transfer the credit hours.

Disclaimer: All communication with prospective students is ethical and honest. The institution does not state or imply that employment, occupational advancement, and/or certification are guaranteed upon completion of this course.
